Solar water pumping systems require no fuel, and have very low O&M costs. Solar pumps are characteristic in a way that they produce most water volumes when it is needed most (that is, in sunny dry seasons)

Small solar pumps can work directly with solar panels, or batteries to deliver up to 10,000litres per day.
Large pumps can work directly with single-phase or three-phase power inverters and pump drives to deliver in excess of 200,000 liters per day, which can serve a population of about 10,000 persons.
